Trauma occurs in many ways and has different effects and outcomes with people, but the one common thing with trauma is that it exists in everyone’s life at some point and becomes stored in the body. Pain isn’t just in our head, but also etched into our muscles. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. The body becomes encouraged to return back to a state of balance. This modality allows one to heal without having to relive the experience by verbally discussing it or giving details which can sometimes compound the trauma. During the TRE process, the fight, flight and freeze mechanism is shut down allowing the body to naturally shake and come back a state of balance. TRE is designed as a self help tool that, once learned, can be used independently and with community as needed through one’s life. The feeling is pleasant and soothing with many people having feelings of peace and well being after. TRE is accessible for all ages and introduced to younger people in a way that is engaging for them. This practice can be modified for people with physical injuries as well. It is guided in an adaptable way to meet people where they are at. Through your first experience of TRE my goal is to create a soft space for you to feel comfortable and curious about your body’s natural shaking mechanism. As you continue to engage with TRE, we open up the space for more modifications of the body’s tremors to take place. Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning the ethers. We all have our own records (like a cloud), as well as our businesses, animals and buildings. Through the Akashic Records, we are guided by Beings of Light to explore and heal old patterns, belief systems and past lives as your soul’s purpose and wisdom is unveiled. My sessions are rooted in Traditional Usui Reiki and supported by Angelic Reiki, intuitive awareness, and ceremonial plant-based practices. In a session with me, we begin with an open conversation about where you are and what you’re seeking, then move into a receptive, relaxed state to allow Reiki to flow. Reiki feels like warmth, calm, or gentle movement — often compared to an energetic massage for the nervous system. It is usually used with other modalities and can be taught as a self help tool, making it an accessible somatic practice. The person thinks about the negative thought or feeling, in a safe and caring environment, while tapping on acu-points(meridian/energy spots on the body) eliciting the relaxation response. The negative feeling, emotion, or memory then collapses the negative coding and the thought or feeling is then paired with a neutral feeling. The memory is not gone but the charge to the memory or problem is gone. TFT can be infused in any somatic and spiritual healing session.
